About

Welcome to Rookiepedia.com!!!

First off, thank you for taking the time to check out Rookiepedia.com! Please bear with us as we work the kinks out of this site.

Welcome to the world’s only dedicated wiki specifically dedicated to sharing information on draft prospects. We hope that this idea is something that many will find an interesting resource not only to read, but to keep updated with accurate information on prospects for professional sports.
What’s a Wiki?

A wiki is a newer form of dissemination of information on the Internet. A wiki is a site that allows for any visitor to add, remove, edit and change most content, in most cases without even needing any special access to the site. Wikis also have inherently easy methods for linking pages internally or externally. The ease of interaction and operation for everyone makes wikis effective tools for mass collaborative authoring.
Why a Wiki About Rookies?

Rookiepedia was founded by two writers of TheJetsBlog who were trying to think of a better way to share information on many of the potential collegiate players who were turning pro. After one year of trying to author this in a Microsoft Word Document. After a long and arduous nightmare, the idea was brought up to consider trying to insert this information into a Wiki, which could then be opened to the larger sporting fan community, hopefully becoming a place for fans of both collegiate and pro alike to contribute and share data about players.
Do You Really Think This Will Work?

Honestly, we have no idea. This is a large project and we are dubious as to how it will be received, but it’s one of those things where we figure it is worth a shot, and if it works, super.

With so many people who NCAA and NFL football and who know a ton about any prospect’s strengths and weaknesses, we are looking to tap into that knowledge base to the benefit of the larger community. To do that, we need your help and the help of others. and probably would be willing to help, we are trying to create a Wiki for (at first) specifically NFL draft prospects, most importantly scouting data.

This might not be earth-shattering, but as a person who doesn’t know much about the NFL Draft, I hate searching all over the Internet for information from disparate sites or having to pay for all the good stuff on pay-for websites. The goal of this site is to be supported solely by sponsors, advertisments and generous contributions.
Wow, Great Idea Losers … Ever Hear of ArmChairGM or umm Wikipedia??

Yes, ArmChairGM and Wikipedia are great sites, but they just aren’t as deep and as focused on keeping scoped on the scouting aspect of professional sports’ draft data
I can’t find … this information is wrong … blah blah blah!!

YAHTZEE!!

That’s the point of this wiki, to create a collective consciousness and repository of data about draftable players.
As Seen On …
